The Basics

What are peptides and how do they work?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as targeted messengers, signaling your body to heal faster, produce more growth hormone, reduce inflammation, or repair damaged tissue — using the same biological language your body already speaks, without introducing synthetic hormones.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids — the same building blocks your body already uses to send signals between cells. Think of them as targeted messengers that tell specific systems in your body to do more of what they should already be doing: heal faster, produce more growth hormone, reduce inflammation, or repair damaged tissue.

Unlike anabolic steroids, peptides do not introduce synthetic hormones into your body. Instead, they stimulate your own natural production. A growth hormone secretagogue like Sermorelin, for example, signals your pituitary gland to release more of the growth hormone it already makes — just at higher, more youthful levels.

Peptide therapy has been used in clinical medicine for decades. Insulin, one of the most commonly prescribed medications in the world, is itself a peptide. The peptides we prescribe at Revive are compounded by licensed pharmacies under strict FDA-regulated processes and administered under physician supervision with ongoing lab monitoring.

Peptides vs. Steroids vs. Supplements

  • Peptides — Signal your body to produce more of what it already makes. Targeted, physician-supervised, lab-monitored.
  • Steroids — Introduce external synthetic hormones. Higher risk profile. Suppresses natural production.
  • Supplements — Unregulated, inconsistent dosing, minimal clinical evidence. Largely ineffective for meaningful hormonal change.
  • Peptide therapy sits between — more potent than supplements, more targeted than steroids, with a favorable safety profile under medical supervision.

Sermorelin is the peptide we currently prescribe for growth hormone optimization. CJC-1295, Ipamorelin, and BPC-157 are temporarily unavailable pending FDA compounding pharmacy decisions — see below for details.

Growth Hormone Optimization — Available Now

What is Sermorelin and what does it do?

Sermorelin is an FDA-recognized growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) analog that signals your pituitary gland to produce more of your own natural growth hormone — driving fat loss, lean muscle, deeper sleep, and anti-aging benefits without synthetic HGH.

Sermorelin works the same way as CJC-1295 — it stimulates your pituitary to release growth hormone naturally — but has a shorter half-life, requiring nightly dosing. It has been used clinically since the 1990s and is one of the most studied GHRH analogs available.

How Sermorelin Works

Sermorelin is a synthetic analog of GHRH — the same hormone your hypothalamus naturally releases to tell your pituitary to produce growth hormone. By administering sermorelin before bed, you amplify the GH pulse that would naturally occur during deep sleep, restoring levels closer to those of a younger man.

Unlike synthetic HGH, sermorelin works with your body's own feedback loops. If GH levels get too high, the pituitary simply stops responding — making sermorelin significantly safer than injecting exogenous growth hormone.

Sermorelin vs. CJC-1295

Both are GHRH analogs with similar mechanisms. CJC-1295 (with DAC) has a longer half-life of 6–8 days, meaning less frequent dosing. Sermorelin has a shorter half-life and is taken nightly, which more closely mimics the body's natural GH pulsatility.

Clinical outcomes are comparable — patients on sermorelin report the same improvements in body composition, sleep quality, recovery, and energy as those who have previously used CJC-1295. The difference is in dosing schedule, not effectiveness.

Fat Loss

GH directly stimulates lipolysis — the breakdown of stored body fat. Many patients see measurable reductions in abdominal fat within 6 to 8 weeks of consistent use.

Lean Muscle

GH promotes protein synthesis and muscle recovery. Combined with resistance training, patients typically gain lean mass while losing fat simultaneously.

Deeper Sleep

GH is primarily released during deep sleep. Sermorelin amplifies this natural cycle — patients consistently report significantly improved sleep quality within days of starting.

Anti-Aging

GH declines approximately 14% per decade after age 30. Restoring youthful GH levels with sermorelin improves skin elasticity, energy, cognition, and overall vitality.

Sermorelin Protocol at Revive

Administration: Subcutaneous injection administered before bed to align with the body's natural GH release cycle during deep sleep.

Typical Protocol: 3 to 6 months, with dosing adjusted based on IGF-1 labs, symptoms, and body composition response.

Dosing: 200 to 300 mcg per injection, typically 5 nights per week. Your physician will personalize the dosing schedule based on your labs and goals.

Pharmacy: Compounded and shipped by Empower Pharmacy or Hallandale Compounding Pharmacy.

TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE

BPC-157 is not currently available for prescription. The FDA removed BPC-157 from the list of bulk drug substances that compounding pharmacies are permitted to use. We will resume prescribing it as soon as it is reinstated. Sermorelin is available now →

Recovery & Repair

What is BPC-157 used for?

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is used to accelerate healing of tendons, ligaments, muscle, and gut tissue — making it one of the most clinically versatile recovery peptides available, particularly for men dealing with sports injuries, chronic joint pain, or GI damage from long-term NSAID use.

BPC-157 is a naturally occurring peptide found in human gastric juice. Research shows it accelerates healing of tendons, ligaments, muscle, and gut tissue — making it one of the most versatile recovery tools in peptide medicine.

Tendon & Ligament Repair

BPC-157 has been shown in multiple studies to accelerate the healing of torn or damaged tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue. It works by promoting angiogenesis — the formation of new blood vessels — and stimulating growth factor production at the injury site. For men dealing with rotator cuff injuries, Achilles tendonitis, tennis elbow, or chronic joint pain, BPC-157 can dramatically shorten recovery timelines. Many patients report noticeable improvement within two to four weeks of starting treatment.

Gut Healing & GI Repair

Because BPC-157 is derived from a protective compound found naturally in gastric juice, it has a powerful affinity for healing the GI tract. Research demonstrates its effectiveness in reducing intestinal inflammation, healing ulcers, and repairing damage from NSAIDs, alcohol, and stress. Men who have been taking ibuprofen for years to manage workout soreness or joint pain often have significant gut damage they do not even realize. BPC-157 can help repair that damage while addressing the musculoskeletal issue simultaneously.

Muscle Recovery & Injury Prevention

For active men — whether you lift weights, run trails, or work a physically demanding job — BPC-157 supports faster muscle recovery and reduced inflammation after intense exercise or injury. It promotes the healing of muscle tears, reduces exercise-induced inflammation, and can help prevent the accumulation of microtrauma that leads to chronic overuse injuries. When combined with testosterone replacement therapy, the synergistic effect on recovery and tissue repair is significant.

BPC-157 Protocol at Revive

Administration: Subcutaneous injection (self-administered at home after in-clinic training) or oral capsule formulation depending on the treatment target.

Typical Cycle: 4 to 8 weeks, with dosing adjusted based on the severity of the injury or condition being treated.

Dosing Range: 250 mcg to 500 mcg per day, split into one or two doses. Your physician will determine the optimal dose based on your labs, body weight, and treatment goals.

Pharmacy: Compounded by Empower Pharmacy or Hallandale Compounding Pharmacy and shipped directly to your door.

Growth Hormone Optimization

What does CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin do?

CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin work together to naturally stimulate your pituitary gland to release more growth hormone — driving fat loss, lean muscle gain, deeper sleep, and anti-aging benefits without the cost or legal complications of synthetic HGH.

CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin work together to naturally stimulate your pituitary gland to produce more growth hormone — without the risks, cost, or legal complications of synthetic HGH. This combination is the most widely prescribed growth hormone secretagogue protocol in peptide medicine.

CJC-1295 (with DAC)

CJC-1295 is a growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) analog that extends the natural pulse of growth hormone secretion. The "DAC" (Drug Affinity Complex) modification gives it a half-life of approximately six to eight days, meaning your body maintains elevated GH levels consistently rather than in sharp, short-lived spikes.

This sustained elevation promotes deeper sleep, enhanced fat metabolism, improved muscle recovery, and gradual body composition changes over an 8 to 12 week cycle. Unlike synthetic HGH, CJC-1295 works with your body's natural feedback loops, so your pituitary gland is not suppressed.

Ipamorelin

Ipamorelin is a selective growth hormone secretagogue that triggers a strong, clean pulse of GH release from the pituitary gland. Unlike older peptides like GHRP-6, Ipamorelin does not significantly increase cortisol or prolactin, making it one of the safest and best-tolerated GH secretagogues available.

When paired with CJC-1295, the combination produces a synergistic effect — CJC-1295 extends the GH window while Ipamorelin amplifies the peak. Together, they mimic the natural GH pulsatility of a much younger man without introducing exogenous growth hormone.

Fat Loss

Growth hormone directly stimulates lipolysis — the breakdown of stored body fat. Many patients see measurable reductions in abdominal fat within 6 to 8 weeks.

Lean Muscle

GH promotes protein synthesis and muscle recovery. Combined with resistance training, patients typically gain lean mass while losing fat simultaneously.

Deeper Sleep

GH is primarily released during deep sleep. CJC/Ipamorelin amplifies this natural cycle, and patients consistently report the best sleep of their lives within days of starting.

Anti-Aging

Growth hormone declines approximately 14% per decade after age 30. Restoring youthful GH levels improves skin elasticity, energy, cognitive function, and overall vitality.

CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin Protocol at Revive

Administration: Subcutaneous injection, typically administered before bed to align with the body's natural GH release cycle during deep sleep.

Typical Cycle: 8 to 12 weeks on, followed by a 4-week break. Cycles can be repeated based on goals and lab results.

Dosing: CJC-1295: 1 to 2 mg per week. Ipamorelin: 200 to 300 mcg per injection, typically 5 nights per week. Your physician will personalize the dosing schedule.

Not sure if you qualify? Every peptide protocol at Revive begins with a comprehensive consultation and 51-analyte lab panel. Your physician will evaluate your full health picture — including IGF-1 levels, metabolic markers, and hormone status — before recommending any peptide therapy. If peptides are not right for you, we will tell you.

Our Process

How Revive's Peptide
Protocols Work

Peptides are not something you should buy from a website and inject without oversight. At Revive, every protocol is physician-supervised with lab monitoring at every stage.

1

Comprehensive Lab Panel & Consultation

Your first visit includes a 51-analyte blood panel plus additional markers like IGF-1 (a direct indicator of growth hormone status). Your licensed physician performs an in-person exam, reviews your medical history, discusses your symptoms and goals, and determines whether peptide therapy is appropriate for your situation. This visit is $99.

2

Custom Protocol Design

Based on your labs, exam findings, and goals, your physician designs a personalized peptide protocol. We currently prescribe Sermorelin for growth hormone optimization. Determining the dosing schedule, cycle length, and monitoring checkpoints is individualized to you — there is no one-size-fits-all protocol at Revive.

3

Pharmacy Compounding & Delivery

Your physician sends the prescription to one of our compound pharmacy partners — Empower Pharmacy or Hallandale Compounding Pharmacy. Both are licensed, FDA-inspected facilities that produce pharmaceutical-grade peptides. Medications are shipped directly to your home in temperature-controlled packaging, typically arriving within 3 to 5 business days.

4

In-Person Injection Training

If your protocol involves subcutaneous injections, you will receive hands-on training at the clinic. Our staff walks you through reconstitution (mixing the peptide), measuring the correct dose with an insulin syringe, injection technique, and proper storage. You will feel confident before you leave the office. This is not a YouTube tutorial — it is one-on-one, in person.

5

Ongoing Lab Monitoring & Protocol Adjustments

At the midpoint and end of each cycle, you return for follow-up labs and a physician check-in. We recheck IGF-1, metabolic markers, and any relevant biomarkers to assess response and safety. Your physician adjusts dosing, extends the cycle, or transitions you to a maintenance protocol based on your results. This is the level of oversight that separates medical peptide therapy from self-experimentation.

The Synergy Stack

Can peptides be combined with TRT?

Yes — peptides and TRT work through complementary pathways and are frequently combined at Revive. Testosterone drives muscle protein synthesis, libido, and energy; growth hormone peptides drive fat metabolism, tissue repair, and sleep quality. Optimizing both simultaneously produces results greater than either therapy alone.

Testosterone and growth hormone work through complementary pathways. Testosterone drives muscle protein synthesis, libido, mood, and energy. Growth hormone drives fat metabolism, tissue repair, sleep quality, and cellular regeneration. When you optimize both simultaneously, the results are greater than either therapy alone.

Many of our patients start with TRT and add Sermorelin once their testosterone levels are stable. The combined effect on body composition — losing fat while gaining lean muscle — is significantly amplified. Recovery from workouts accelerates. Sleep deepens. Mental clarity sharpens further.

This is the kind of comprehensive, multi-system optimization that addresses both testosterone deficiency and declining growth hormone simultaneously — something no telehealth company or supplement stack can replicate.

TRT Alone

  • ✓ Restores testosterone levels
  • ✓ Improves energy, libido, mood
  • ✓ Supports muscle growth
  • ○ Limited effect on GH
  • ○ Moderate fat loss

TRT + Peptides

  • ✓ Restores testosterone AND growth hormone
  • ✓ Amplified energy, libido, sleep, mood
  • ✓ Enhanced muscle growth + faster recovery
  • ✓ Significant fat loss (especially visceral)
  • ✓ Anti-aging benefits (skin, cognition, vitality)
  • ✓ Tissue repair and injury recovery

Safety & Transparency

Are peptides safe?

Peptides have a favorable safety profile under physician supervision — BPC-157 has no known serious adverse effects in published research, and CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin's side effects (mild water retention, vivid dreams, temporary tingling) are minor and manageable with proper dosing.

Peptides have a favorable safety profile when prescribed and monitored by a physician. That said, no medication is without potential side effects. Here is what you should know.

BPC-157 Side Effects

CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE — FDA RESTRICTION

  • Injection site redness — Mild and temporary. Rotating injection sites minimizes this.
  • Nausea — Rare. More common with oral formulations. Usually resolves within a few days.
  • Dizziness — Uncommon. Typically occurs only at higher doses and subsides quickly.
  • Overall profile — BPC-157 is one of the safest peptides available, with no known serious adverse effects in published research.

CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin Side Effects

CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE — FDA RESTRICTION

  • Water retention — Mild fluid retention is common in the first 1 to 2 weeks. It typically resolves as your body adjusts.
  • Tingling or numbness — A sign of elevated GH. Usually mild and temporary. If persistent, your physician adjusts the dose.
  • Increased hunger — GH stimulation can temporarily increase appetite. This is manageable with dietary awareness.
  • Vivid dreams — Very common. A sign of deeper sleep cycles. Most patients consider this a positive effect.

This is why physician supervision matters. The biggest risk with peptides is not the peptides themselves — it is using unregulated products from online gray-market suppliers without medical oversight. At Revive, every peptide is pharmaceutical-grade, every patient is lab-monitored, and every protocol is designed and adjusted by a licensed physician. Your safety is never compromised.
