PE Treatment That
Actually Works.
Premature ejaculation affects 20–30% of men — and is one of the most treatable sexual health conditions. We combine proven medications with personalized physician care for lasting improvement.
As of 2026, no medication is specifically FDA-approved for premature ejaculation in the United States. All pharmaceutical treatments for PE are either off-label uses of FDA-approved drugs (SSRIs, topical anesthetics) or medications not yet approved in the US (dapoxetine). This is a well-recognized gap in US drug regulation — dapoxetine is approved in 60+ countries but not in the US. Off-label prescribing is legal, common, and supported by extensive clinical evidence. Our providers will explain all options clearly at your consultation.
Premature Ejaculation:
Common, Treatable, Overlooked
Premature ejaculation is consistently ranked as the most common male sexual complaint globally, affecting approximately 20–30% of men at some point in their lives. Despite this, most men never seek treatment — often because they don't know effective options exist, or assume nothing can help.
At Revive Low T Clinic, we offer evidence-based pharmacological treatment for PE as part of our comprehensive men's sexual health practice. Treatment is effective, discreet, and often more affordable than you expect.
PE can occur as a lifelong pattern or develop later in life. Both forms respond well to treatment. If you also experience ED, we can address both conditions simultaneously — learn about our ED treatment program.
Factors We Evaluate
- → Ejaculatory Threshold — serotonin activity and central sensitivity
- → Penile Hypersensitivity — local nerve sensitivity and topical options
- → Comorbid Anxiety — performance anxiety amplifying PE response
- → Hormonal Factors — testosterone, thyroid, and prolactin levels
- → Coexisting ED — PE and ED frequently occur together
Evidence-Based PE Treatment
at Revive
Our physicians design personalized protocols combining the most effective options for your specific presentation.
SSRIs
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors are the most widely prescribed PE treatment worldwide. They raise the ejaculatory threshold by increasing serotonin activity. Available as inexpensive generics.
- ✓ Sertraline, paroxetine, fluoxetine
- ✓ Often insurance-covered
- ✓ $4–15/month generic
Topical Anesthetics
Topical lidocaine or lidocaine-prilocaine applied to the glans reduces sensitivity and delays ejaculation. Highly effective, minimal systemic absorption, and some products are available over-the-counter.
- ✓ EMLA cream (Rx) or Promescent (OTC)
- ✓ On-demand use before activity
- ✓ $15–60/month
Dapoxetine
The only SSRI specifically designed for on-demand PE treatment. Approved in the UK, EU, Canada, and 60+ countries. Available via compounding pharmacy in the US. Taken 1–3 hours before activity.
- ✓ Ideal for men who prefer on-demand dosing
- ⚠ Not FDA-approved in the US
- ✓ $40–80/month compounded
Combination Therapy
Research consistently shows that combining pharmacological treatment (SSRI or dapoxetine) with topical anesthetics produces better results than either alone. For men with both PE and ED, specific combination regimens are available.
- ✓ SSRI + topical for maximum effect
- ✓ PE + ED combination protocols
- ✓ Physician-tailored to your goals

Also Experiencing Erectile Dysfunction?
PE and ED frequently co-occur. When both are present, treating one condition without addressing the other often leads to suboptimal results. Our physicians can evaluate and treat both simultaneously with a comprehensive men's sexual health protocol.
PE Treatment:
What Men Ask Most
How is premature ejaculation diagnosed?
PE is primarily diagnosed through patient history and validated questionnaires. No invasive testing is typically required, and most patients are diagnosed and treated at a single consultation.
At Revive, we also review hormone levels since low testosterone and hormonal imbalances can contribute to PE. Our 51-analyte lab panel identifies any hormonal factors that may be worsening your symptoms. If you have both PE and ED, we evaluate both conditions simultaneously.
Is there a non-daily medication for premature ejaculation?
Yes. Compounded dapoxetine is an on-demand option taken 1–3 hours before sexual activity. Daily SSRIs and topical anesthetics are also highly effective on-demand options.
Dapoxetine is the only SSRI specifically engineered for on-demand PE treatment and is approved in the UK, EU, Canada, and many other countries. In the US, it's available only through compounding pharmacies. Some SSRIs like sertraline can also be used on-demand (taken 4–8 hours before activity). See our full medications guide for details →
Will PE medication affect my erections?
At the low doses used for PE, SSRI side effects on erectile function are usually minimal. If you have both PE and ED, our physicians design combined treatment protocols that address both conditions.
SSRIs can occasionally cause delayed orgasm or mild changes in erectile function — these effects are dose-dependent and manageable. For patients with both PE and ED, pairing an SSRI or topical anesthetic with a PDE5 inhibitor (sildenafil or tadalafil) often produces optimal results. We'll discuss all tradeoffs at your consultation.
